Emerson Process Management (UK) has introduced the AccuMax⢠technology to enhance boiler and furnace efficiency and reduce emissions. The new feature of the companyâs Rosemount Analytical® X-STREAMâ¢O2 analyser helps customers maintain accurate oxygen measurements.
Todayâs sustained fuel price increases are causing boiler and furnace operators to examine ways to reduce oxygen in their flue gas to achieve higher efficiencies and lower nitrogen oxide and greenhouse gas emissions. Accurate flue gas oxygen measurements are critical to attaining these goals.
âNumerous variables can create inaccuracies in oxygen measurements resulting in less efficient combustion control and wasted fuel,â said Doug Simmers, product manager for the Rosemount Analytical Gas Division of Emerson. âExtensive testing regarding these variables led to the development of AccuMax technology for the X-STREAM O2 analyser, which offers industry leading accuracy and stability.â
The performance-enhancing AccuMax technology includes an internal
mechanical assembly that stabilises cell temperature, increasing oxygen
measurement accuracy. AccuMax also incorporates a Calibration-Recommended Diagnostic which identifies when the probe requires calibration, eliminating the need to schedule calibrations on a periodic basis.
According to Simmers, âThe Calibration-Recommended Diagnostic saves time
and calibration gas, and ensures that the operator always has an accurate analyser. These savings can pay back the analyser purchase price in just a few weeks.â
