Gas analyser
PRIMA Equipment has introduced the PISO-19 Oxygen Analyser, a new-generation in-situ online monitoring instrument designed for long-term oxygen measurement in flue gas applications under demanding industrial conditions.
The PISO-19 is designed to monitor oxygen in flue gas ducts, providing a key parameter for combustion efficiency control in high-energy industrial processes. The analyser is suitable for use in sectors including power, ceramics, steel and glass, as well as facilities operating furnaces, boilers, hot air generators and thermic fluid heaters.
Using an in-situ measurement method, the PISO-19 probe is inserted directly into the flue gas duct, reducing the need for complex sample extraction arrangements. The analyser is equipped with a zirconia oxygen sensor and blowback unit, supporting reliable oxygen measurement in challenging conditions where dust, heat and process variability can affect monitoring performance.
The analyser offers a measurement range of 0–25% oxygen by volume with 0.1% resolution, while PRIMA also states that the instrument can measure oxygen with a settable range from 0–50%. It is suitable for flue gas temperatures of 0–600°C, with a 1000°C customised option available, and can operate in gas velocities up to 40 m/s.
For plant operators and combustion engineers, continuous oxygen measurement is essential for understanding and controlling combustion efficiency. Too much excess oxygen can indicate inefficient combustion and unnecessary heat loss, while too little oxygen may point to incomplete combustion, increased emissions risk or unstable process conditions. By providing real-time oxygen data directly from the flue gas duct, the PISO-19 supports improved process visibility and more responsive combustion control.
The PISO-19 includes a large LCD display for local operation and data viewing, with signal outputs including optional isolated 4–20 mA and Modbus RS485. The instrument has a response time of less than five seconds and stated accuracy of ±2% at constant temperature.
To support reliable operation and reduced maintenance requirements, the PISO-19 is available with automatic purge functionality and auto calibration using purge air. The probe tube is manufactured from 316L stainless steel, with probe length dependent on duct dimensions and application requirements.
The analyser meets the measurement requirements of EN 14181, supporting its use in industrial emissions and combustion monitoring applications where dependable oxygen measurement is required.
The PISO-19 is available for customised installation depending on duct dimensions, process temperature, monitoring requirements and site conditions.
