Gas analyser
Ambient air monitoring plays a critical role in measuring gases that can affect environmental quality, workplace conditions and public safety. Monitoring stations may measure gases such as NO₂, CO, CO₂, VOCs, SO₂, H₂S, oxygen and nitrogen across a wide range of concentrations. As sensor and analyser technology becomes increasingly sensitive, the accuracy of the calibration standard becomes even more important. Without reliable calibration, even advanced monitoring equipment can produce questionable exposure or concentration results.
Calibration can be especially challenging when reactive gases are involved. Static cylinder mixtures may experience losses to active cylinder surfaces, potentially introducing offsets or inaccurate calibrations. Multi-point verification can also require dilution or additional equipment. For dependable air monitoring, calibration gases should closely represent the concentrations and gas combinations encountered in the actual environment.
