Multi gas analysis (N2O, CH4, CO2 , H2O, O2) for wastewater treatment plants

10 Mar, 2026

Scientific studies have shown that sewage treatment plants emit significant amounts of nitrous oxide (N₂O) and methane (CH4). N₂O has a global warming potential (GWP) that is 300 times higher than that of CO₂. Continuous gas analysis based on NDIR technology is an effective way to significantly reduce these emissions. Wi.Tec-Sensorik GmbH has developed a powerful multi-gas measurement module for this application. The measurement module can measure several gases N₂O, CH₄, CO₂ and O₂ simultaneously and continuously (24/7) in the required concentrations and measurement accuracies. The measuring module also features precise water vapour measurement (HUMI.sens®). The entire setup is regulated to a temperature of 55 °C and is located in a thermally insulated thermobox (TBH). The N2O measuring range can be adjusted from 0-100 ppm to 0-5000 ppm, depending on the application.
