Restek’s new multicomponent CRM mix has been developed specifically for food safety laboratories analysing furans and alkylfurans and  meets all compounds listed by AOAC SMPR 2019.004 and Commission Recommendation (EU) 2022/495. Having combined eight furan and alkylfuran compounds into a single ampul, Restek have simplified calibration significantly, thereby helping food laboratories to keep errors to a minimum, while saving time, and money. These compounds are furan, 2-methylfuran, 3-methylfuran, 2,5-dimethylfuran, 2-ethylfuran, 2-butylfuran, 2-Pentylfuran and 2,3-Dimethylfuran.

With a high concentration of 100 µg/mL Restek has given labs extra flexibility in creating working standards. In addition Restek’s optimised SPME Arrows and GC-MS method enables laboratories to streamline method development.

The Furan/Alkylfurans Standard (Restek catalogue reference 33334) is a certified reference material (CRM) that is exclusively manufactured and QC-tested in Restek’s ISO-accredited laboratories.
