Non-contact Is The Key

Is it your task to measure the flow rate of open channels and semi-filled pipes that carry storm water, municipal wastewater or any kind of industrial effluent? One of the main challenges here results from the fact that so far the monitoring equipment had to be installed submerged. Due to sediments, solids, and dirt in the water the instruments build up deposits and are impaired by soiling. The polluted and sometimes aggressive water leads to work intensive cleaning and maintenance of the sensors.

The new SQ flow meter by SOMMER Messtechnik however can be installed above the water body as it uses non-contact radar and ultrasonic technology. Performing a separate level and flow velocity measurement, the SQ captures continuously and maintenance-free the flow rate of sewer systems, shafts, ducts, semi-filled pipes and other technical channels. Furthermore the discharge calculation of the sensor, which is very easy to install and to set up, is based on an advanced hydraulic model.

The SQ flow meter therefore perfectly fulfils the requirements and high standards of flow monitoring in sewer systems, wastewater treatment plants or storm water basins and many other industrial and wastewater applications.
