New video provides expert answers to frequently asked questions on wastewater leak detection applications

With wastewater network performance coming under much scrutiny in recent years, water companies face increasing pressure to address customer, regulatory and technical challenges by reducing wastewater pollution events that cause environmental and social damage.

Many of those incidents are linked to rising sewer main bursts, which do not typically attract leak detection solutions due to having few access points to insert data acquisition units. Finding innovative solutions to gather data from rising sewer mains is crucial to improving the understanding of wastewater network performance.

To make water companies in the UK aware of their leak detection options, Atmos International has released a video in which water subject matter experts Harry Smith (Sales and Senior Research Engineer) and Martin Duff (Business Development Director for water) answer the key questions about wastewater networks.

In the video, the experts cover topics ranging from combined sewer overflows (CSOs) to rising sewer mains leak detection.

Speaking about the recently launched video, Martin Duff said: “Water companies are responsible for transporting wastewater to sewage treatment plants safely, but it can seem like a losing battle when they have an aging network that often crosses natural watercourses and frequent leakage or bursts in rising sewer main pipelines to contend with. By releasing this video, we hope to make utilities aware that they have a range of leak detection options available.”
