Environmental Solutions for Asia at IE expo

Following the agreement reached at the Paris Climate Change Conference, the Chinese government is set to increase its activities in climate and environmental protection, and this will bring about a further rise in demand for green technology and innovations. IE expo is an opportunity for international suppliers of environmental solutions to present themselves to the Chinese expert audience. Asia´s leading trade fair for environmental technology takes place from May 5 to 7, 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

China´s commitment expressed at that Climate Summit in Paris last December underlines the country´s increasing readiness to combat climate change. Xi Jinping, President of the People´s Republic, announced that his country would be capping carbon emissions by 2030 at the latest and increasing the contribution of renewable energy to its primary energy consumption to around 20 percent. The key to achieving these goals lies in sustainable environmental technology and in innovations.

China is top of the list of the world´s biggest carbon-emitting nations—and alongside the need to improve resource- and energy-efficiency, the subject of air pollution control plays a key role in Chinese environmental protection. At IE expo in Shanghai therefore there is a dedicated section on air pollution control. Following strong growth in business in this area last year, 2016 promises even greater potential.

Also on show at IE expo 2016 are solutions for the treatment and processing of water, waste and wastewater and for soil decontamination and remediation. As Asia´s largest environmental platform, IE expo brings together both sides of the industry—suppliers and users—and promotes international exchange in the sector. Big names like BHS, De Nora, Huber, KSB, Pentair, PillAerator, Remondis, SUEZ, TOMRA, Veolia, Wilo, Xylem and many others have already signed up for the forthcoming event.

Following the success of last year´s event, in 2016 IE expo will again be featuring an Innovation Pavilion, which brings researchers and developers together with investors. An Exchange Symposium will be accompanying the pavilion, offering companies, universities, research institutes and engineering offices the chance to discuss the latest products and technologies on the market. The organizers of the Innovation Pavilion and the Exchange Symposium are the Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences (CSES) and the China Environment Chamber of Commerce (CECC), with the support of Tsinghua University and Tongji University.
