Harmful algal blooms are more frequent and more intense than ever before. HABs are now seen as a public threat, and water managers need reliable tools for monitoring.

Xylem brand YSI introduces Total Algae Sensors, the most sensitive tools available which help you to monitor, mitigate, and manage the impacts of harmful algal blooms.

The dual-channel sensors can help you to detect the onset of an algae bloom as early as possible to plan your response. It supports a rational approach for the collection of samples for other laboratory analyses, saving you time and money.

The Total Algae Sensors help you understand the seasonal and weather-related patterns of algae growth in your system and help to understand the relevance of other parameters like pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature.

The sensors are available in 2 flavors: TAL-PC sensors for monitoring freshwater cyanobacteria and the TAL PE sensors, ideal for monitoring marine cyanobacteria. Both models detect chlorophyll and phycocyanin and are compatible with YSI’s industry leading multiparameter platforms, EXO and ProDSS.
