YSI (USA), a Xylem brand, is expanding their process monitoring and control equipment offering to the wastewater market. The YSI ProSample Series of fully automated portable samplers are lightweight and easy-to-use, and provide a unique combination of design and technology.

YSI has a long history of providing process monitoring and control solutions, and the ProSample Series is a solid addition to that legacy. The compact samplers contain a customised peristaltic pump that provides highly accurate sampling, with measuring increments that can be pre-set based on time intervals, flow rates or by weather event. The robust and insulated plastic housing is ideal for field use, keeping samples intact and at the proper temperature. The sampler is easily calibrated, with a visual indication light when the unit is ready to go.

A wastewater plant can install the samplers at the plant influent channel, at the effluent, or anywhere in between, and different models come with 1, 4, 8, or 24 sample bottle options. Facilities can download sample data via USB to connect to a PC, or program the sampler on the keypad or at a PC and upload using the USB port.

“We have a growing presence in the wastewater market,” says Tim Grooms, Director of Marketing for Xylem’s Analytics North America. “This line of automated samplers gives us another great solution to offer municipalities and plant operators, to optimise efficiency and save manpower costs. Whether it’s for regulatory compliance or process improvement, the ProSample Series is an excellent addition to any wastewater plant.”
