As a leading international manufacturer and supplier of small-bore liquid flowmeters, Titan Enterprises is committed to investing in research and development to maintain its competitive edge in the market. New product development is a vital part of any manufacturing company, and by pushing the boundaries of technology and exploring a range of options, Titan can offer cost-effective, reliable flow sensor products to its customers.

The R&D process at Titan is driven by the needs of its OEM customers, who often present the company with a problem that needs to be solved. From there, the development team works to scope out a bespoke design concept that has the potential to solve the issue. Understanding the priorities of the customer is key at this stage, as it will influence the development route and technology used in the concept design.

Once the concept designs have been agreed upon, the next phase is to agree on pricing for the tooling and final meter based on expected production quantities. Machined prototypes are then put through a rigorous in-house testing process, and any unexpected issues or problems are addressed through a process of rebuilding and problem-solving.

Finally, the prototype is issued to the OEM for testing in-situ, which allows the team to uncover any additional issues that may arise. If necessary, further prototypes are developed and tested until the final product meets the necessary performance standards.

"We take great pride in our R&D process and the innovative solutions we're able to provide to our customers," said Neil Hannay, Senior Development Engineer at Titan Enterprises. "While there are always challenges and setbacks along the way, it's all part of the recipe for success."
