Valeport has announced the launch of the SWiFT Deep CTD profiler for conducting conductivity, temperature, and depth measurements to depths of 6000m. The new addition to the SWiFT range has been designed with a focus on versatility and accuracy, offering high-quality CTD profiles in a compact, robust, and portable package.

The SWiFT Deep CTD profiler features world-leading survey-grade sensor technology and Bluetooth® wireless connectivity, along with an integral GNSS module for geo-locating each profile. Using Valeport's high accuracy sensor technology, the SWiFT Deep CTD combines sensors for multiple profiles in a single drop, delivering directly measured conductivity, temperature, and depth. Additionally, the profiler provides computed salinity, density, and sound velocity, calculated using the UNESCO international standard algorithm and Chen and Millero equation. Data can be easily downloaded wirelessly and shared in industry-standard data formats.

The SWiFT Deep CTD profiler is easy to use, featuring Valeport's signature SWiFT magnetic switch ring, which turns through 90 degrees and clicks into position. The end cap of the profiler features user-friendly LED status indications for GNSS, battery, and communications. With an operational battery life of up to five days and the convenience of charge via USB, the SWiFT Deep CTD is designed to cope with the harshest conditions and is intended for offshore, coastal, harbour, and inland environmental and hydrographic survey use.

Constructed from titanium, the SWiFT Deep CTD profiler provides unmatched durability, with CTD sensors housed in a strong acetal sensor guard. The profiler eliminates the need for problematic battery changes and delivers fully automated data transfer with no user input required.
