Fluid Components International (FCI) has introduced the FLT93 Series FlexSwitch® for process and plant engineers working in nuclear power plants, providing reliable flow, level, and temperature measurement. The FLT93 is suitable for a range of applications in nuclear power plants, including reactor core coolant, pump protection, and flood alarms. It offers a single sensor design, providing dual measuring functions, saving space, weight, and costs compared to using multiple discrete sensors. It has been tested to IEEE 323-1983 and IEEE 344-1987, making it fully qualified for Class 1E safety-related nuclear power plant applications. It is qualified for a 40-year life at 150°F and can withstand radiation levels of 2x108 rads. The FLT93 has a low process temperature range of -40 to 250°F and a high temperature range of -40 to 455°F, with a process pressure rating of 2000 psig and accuracy of ±5% of reading on flow. It is suitable for use in ATEX locations and has a NEMA Type 4X (IP66) rating. FCI has been a Continuous Class 1E Supplier to the nuclear power industry since 1978 and has more than 30 applications operational in 115 nuclear power plants worldwide.
