Faster Water Analysis  

Fytagoras B.V. and Da Vinci Europe Laboratory Solutions B.V. (both of The Netherlands) have signed an agreement on the development, marketing and sales of a fast water analysis. Dr. Odile Steijger, director of Fytagoras, explains the cooperation: "Fytagoras is in first instance an applied science technology company. Based on the market needs we develop a prototype for a measuring device. The next step is to find a partner for the manufacturing and marketing of the device. Further developments in cooperation with Da Vinci Europe resulted in this second Fytagoras product”.

Within the agricultural sector Fytagoras has gained a lot of know-how and expertise in measuring the biological oxygen demand through fluorescence. Based on this technology they developed BioxyCount®. This proven technology will be further adapted to determine the biological oxygen demand of water samples within 30 minutes for e.g. environmental applications.

Seph Lottman, business development manager for BioxyCount, states: "This development ties in perfectly with a company like Da Vinci Europe. Their market knowledge en know-how on robotic solutions will enable them to produce a system suitable for single analysis up to completely automated analyses.” Willem van Raalte, CEO of Da Vinci Europe, completes this statement with: “The synergy of an applied science company like Fytagoras and the know-how on the market and instrumentation of Da Vinci Europe is a challenging combination, which will lead us to a first class product!”

Fytagoras is a spin-off from the TNO research organisation and focuses on the development and application of innovative measuring devices where the plant is the focal point.
