BEKA associates have introduced Pageant, a new intrinsically safe combined operator panel and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with plug-in input and output modules allowing direct connection to hazardous area sensors.

Pageant simplifies the design, reduces panel space requirements and the cost of providing operator displays and controls in hazardous areas. It has Ex ia intrinsic safety protection with IECEx, ATEX and UKCA certification allowing installation in all gas and dust Zone.  Multiple variables can be displayed simultaneously on the 7-inch backlit trans-reflective display which is readable in all lighting conditions. Operator inputs can be made via eight touch switches with tricolour LED backlights, or via external push buttons.

The PLC employs industry standard CODESYS® runtime software which complies with IEC 61131 and has a lifetime licence. CODESYS runtime is installed in more than 1,500 different products worldwide, is supported by extensive documentation and will already be familiar to many users.
