Using telemetry devices designed to work with sensors from multiple manufacturers can be extremely complicated both for the installer and the end user. Aquaread has designed Aquatel to simplify and streamline the whole setup and installation process. The value of the data being recorded has not been overlooked; the modern-looking Inoview by nke offers an aesthetically pleasing and fully functional web platform for users to view their data. The platform features an active map utilising the Aquatel’s built-in GPS, traffic light monitors for things like battery level and position drifting if being used on a buoy, and manipulatable graphs where various parameters can be overlaid on the same plot to look for trend change correlations.

Aquatel will recognise the probe that is connected to it, including any additional sensors fitted to the probe – zero setup is required it is just plug and play through to the data being displayed in Inoview. Deployment is also simple, you have the option of using alkali or lithium batteries to keep the system flexible. When you first switch the Aquatel on it will connect to the mobile network and give you an LED indication of the signal strength of the network it is connected to, once connected all settings changes can be made by sending Aquatel SMS messages. Send a message to activate the GPS, once you receive a ‘GPS connected’ confirmation message you have established connectivity to the network. After this just send Aquatel the word ‘Readings’, and it will reply with the current measurements from the connected probe. Once you have checked the values are as expected you are free to deploy the equipment and leave the site.
