SHARE interdisciplinary project â Asia at first and then SHARE, has carried out environmental studies and monitoring. It started in Himalaya mountain range in order to collect main climatic changes and other environmental indicators connected to global changes. Subsequently under pressing request of international authority UNEP, environmental program for United Nations, WMO, WorldMeteorological Organization, it expanded in Africa and Europe LSI-Lastem started and developed its participation within this research circle.
Since 2000 LSI-Lastem S.r.l. has supplied several permanent and automatic meteorological stations:
⢠Nepal, two stations at Pyramid (5050 m above sea level), one at Periche (4260 m above sea level), Namche (35070 m above sea level), and Lukla (2660 m above sea level);
⢠Pakistan, Urdukas (3926 m above sea level), Askole (3.015 m above sea level);
⢠Africa, Ruwenzori ( 4.700 m above sea level);
⢠Italy on Cimone Mount (2.165 m above sea level) and on Forni glacier (2700 m above sea level).
The stations of SHARE net have been operating in different international programmes: CEOP/GEWEX (Coordinated Enhanced Observed Period), GAW (Global Atmospheric Watch) of World Meteorological Organization, ABC (Atmospheric Brown Cloud) of UNEP, LTER (Long Term Ecological Research), AERONET (Aerosol Robotic Network â NASA), GLIMS (Global and Ice Measurement from Space).
