More than 24,000 schools in the UK have been asked to offer
environmental analysis by InterClimate Network (ICN).
As part of its 1,000 Voices initiative, the international organisation is asking young people for their views on the environment, climate change and a number of other issues.
The scheme is also gathering the viewpoints of children who live in India and Kenya.
Commenting, John Davidson, chief executive of ICN, said: "This project is about young people coming together, within their schools, their communities and across continents, to discuss climate change and work actively to find solutions."
He also stressed that young people have opinions that are not always heard and this is something that the project hopes to rectify.
The findings of the
environmental analysis surveys will be presented at the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP15 - in Copenhagen, which is due to take place between December 7th and 18th.
