Firms are set to receive help via new
environmental legislation so that they can do their bit to tackle climate change.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has joined together with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants to produce the Climate Resilience Toolkit.
This is an online device, which will help businesses track their progress in helping the environment.
It will provide a report so that each company receives tailored advice on how it can become greener.
Environment minister Lord Henley said by using the Climate Resilience Toolkit, businesses can help reduce the affects climate change will have on them, such as limit their resources and bring about more adverse weather conditions.
"[It] is an excellent tool for quickly and simply assessing areas in your business that could be affected by climate change," he went on to say.
Earlier this month, Defra revealed that if British companies reduced the amount of water and energy they used, they would be able to collectively save £23 billion a year.
