The government has confirmed that
environmental legislation will give greater support to the Scottish green energy industry.
Earlier this week, energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne announced that more will be done in order to reap the full benefits of the country's renewable energy projects.
"If we are to meet our climate change targets, Scotland will be mission critical. Success here will define our low carbon legacy," he stated.
Mr Huhne added that the government is "breaking through the barriers" when he spoke at the Scottish Renewables conference.
He also announced that a new agreement has been made to encourage onshore wind projects between the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Ministry of Defence, Department for Transport, Civil Aviation Authority, National Air Traffic Service, the renewables industry and the Scottish government to solve aviation-radar problems.
This comes after FIM Services' Richard Crosbie Dawson revealed that major utility companies are beginning to focus on offshore wind farms as a means of producing energy.
