Environmental analysis will be given to the proposals for a solar farm in the Isle of Wight.
Low Carbon Solar will hold a consultation for plans to develop the site at Wilmingham Plantation, the Isle of Wight County Press reported.
It claims that the farm could generate five megawatts of green energy, which would be enough to provide power for 1,000 homes.
Kate Covill, company acquisitions director, told the newspaper that the firm was encouraged by the response it received at the Garlic Festival last year over the proposals.
She added: "[We] want to involve as many island people and companies as possible in setting this up if we gain planning permission."
Residents will be able to learn more about the
environmental analysis process behind the farm by attending the exhibition next Wednesday (January 12th 2011).
This news comes just a couple of weeks after the publication reported that Kronos announced its plans to build a solar energy site on 30 acres of Wellow farmland.
