A total of 65 world leaders have now confirmed their attendance that the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
The global figures that have announced their presence at the event, which will cover topics such as
environmental health, include British prime minister Gordon Brown and German chancellor Angela Merkel.
However, the organisers of the symposium noted that India, the US and China - the three biggest carbon polluters in the world - have not yet stated whether or not they will send their representatives.
However, climate delegate for the US Jane Lubchenco has revealed that President Barack Obama is "actively considering" going to the conference.
Danish prime minister Lars Lokke said that the response that has been registered demonstrates that "political momentum is pointing towards Copenhagen" and expressed his hopes for an "ambitious deal" to be reached.
A number of famous people have also pledged their support to the Copenhagen conference.
These include Hollywood actor Leonardo diCaprio, actress Cate Blanchett, Sting and Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, the Telegraph reports.
