New CEO Heads up Bibby Scientific

Bibby Scientific makes a major appointment, announcing Dr James Heffernan as the new Chief Executive Officer from 17 May. With both geographical expansion and an active programme of new product development underway throughout the Jenway, Techne and Stuart ranges, Dr Heffernan joins Bibby Scientific at an exciting time in the company’s history.

James Heffernan holds a BSc in Chemistry, together with a PhD in Organic Chemistry, and brings 20 years’ experience in building successful and profitable businesses in the drug discovery, life science and biotechnology sectors. Most recently he was Group Managing Director of Biochrom Ltd which is a subsidiary of Harvard Biosciences, a US publicly traded company. Previously he spent several years as CEO of Nextgen Ltd; three years as VP Biotechnology with Sigma-Aldrich, the speciality chemicals and reagent supplier, and ten years in various executive positions at Promega, a leading supplier of advanced molecular biology research systems and reagents.
