The Xact 625, from Cooper Environmental (USA), is designed for monitoring metals in ambient air, near fence lines of industrial facilities, and in complex urban environments where particulate matter and metal concentrations are elevated.
The system uses reel-to-reel filter tape sampling and nondestructive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. The air is sampled through a particulate matter (PM) size selective inlet and drawn through a filter tape. The resulting PM deposit is the advanced into the analysis area where the sample is analysed by XRF for selected metals while the next sample is collected.
Sampling and analysis are performed continuously and simultaneously. Paired with the ADAPT (Automated Data Analysis Plotting Toolset), the Xact 625 will measure and report data in near-real time making this instrument the most user friendly and powerful tool for identifying pollution sources.
The 625 is also one of the most stable instruments with many automatic QA features with each sample analysed as well as daily calibration checks.
The system can measure up to 24 elements simultaneously with detection limits as low as 0.014 ng/m³.
