Doncaster has won an award for its
air quality, it has been revealed.
The Annual
Air Quality Bulletin has announced that the Yorkshire town has beaten 430 other local authorities for its air pollution awareness campaign.
Environmental experts judged the Doncaster Council's
air quality website called Fresh Air, the Star reported.
They stated that the web page was the best in the country for its ability to promote
air quality awareness to adults and children.
It added that Fresh Air's activities for youngsters, its easy navigation and printable bulletins were an effective attempt at trying to improve the
air quality of the area.
Doncaster Council's website states its intention to reduce
landfill gas emissions and limit traffic pollution.
Fresh Air's user-friendly webpage offers information for residents to help them understand the problem of air pollution in Doncaster, the impact it can have and its health implications, as well as ways they can help to reduce it.
