Air Monitoring
Improved performance for air sampling worth raving about
Jan 18 2022
Restek’s RAVE+ diaphragm valves significantly enhance air sampling operations’ performances. Unlike many other valves containing soft, polymeric materials, RAVE+ valves are made entirely of stainless-steel, thus eliminating sample contamination caused by off-gassing, preventing target compounds being lost because of adsorption, and therefore leading to an extended service life. RAVE+’s roller-hardened valve port threads extend its durability, withstands damage, and prevents leaks. The robust and work-hardened all-metal valve seats provide protection from particles that can cause leaks. Moreover, a VOC-free, thread-locking adhesive stops the valve’s knob from loosening and keeps it securely in place. These valves also include an integrated hard stop that stops operators from turning the knob too far and therefore locking the valve open. Every RAVE+ valve is helium leak tested to 1x10-6 mL/sec prior to shipping. These enhanced features mean that RAVE+ diaphragm valves expand on the high-quality standards set by the original RAVE valves to provide superior air sampling performance.
RAVE + are now standard on Restek’s full range of SilcoCan, TO-Can, and miniature air sampling canisters, the newly redesigned, cutting-edge valves are also pefect for upgrading existing canisters. RAVE+ valves can be ordered with Siltek treatment for enhanced inertness and with the choice of two or three ports to accommodate an optional gauge. Diaphragm rebuild kits and RAVE+ guards can be obtained to further extend the life of these rugged air valves.
