Companies that find
air monitoring difficult could benefit from a new advanced system tailored by a prominent US-based network provider.
AT&T has launched its Carbon Impact Assessment Tool, which allows businesses to accurately calculate their carbon footprint.
The initiative takes into account how big a firm is, how many people it employs and the amount of corporate travel it has to complete.
Importantly, the system also factors in what technology the enterprise uses to restrict unnecessary trips such as teleconferencing software, before issuing the user with data on how much carbon it is releasing into the atmosphere.
Bosses believe that AT&T is the first firm to offer this service to businesses. "Environmental resources are precious. The AT&T Carbon Impact Assessment Tool helps quantify benefits based on real customer-provided data and protocol-based calculations," commented vice-president of marketing communications Alicia Dietsch.
The company has also joined forces with Digi to launch a new range of sophisticated smart meters, which help energy consumers monitor their electricity and gas consumption, ultimately improving
air quality.
