A group of Edinburgh residents say work on the city's new tram system has caused significant air pollution in the area.
Moray Feus Residents' Association claims readings show levels of nitrogen dioxide have doubled and added it was concerned that rising levels of traffic diverted by work on the line was harming
air quality.
The group's Ashley Lloyd told BBC News: "We are now seeing levels that are twice the EU and Scottish statutory limit for an annual average, which is 40 micrograms per cubic metre."
A council official said residents could lodge objections during the public consultation period, and the residents' association are encouraging the local authority to consider reopening the city's Princes Street and Shandwick Place.
It was reported this week that Jersey residents participating in an online survey had named the incinerator at Bellozanne as a major pollutant, although a majority of respondents said they believed the island's
air quality to be good.
