The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. Accreditation provides customers with a formal recognition of the competence, impartiality, performance and capability of a particular business.

UKAS currently accredits around 200 organisations in the Environment sector, including areas such as drinking water, land and stack emissions. Within this sector UKAS also assesses around 80 organisations to various MCERTS Schemes on behalf of the Environment Agency. Please visit UKAS on stand 81.
