The Oilspy hydrocarbon detector has been designed by the IFP (French Institute of petroleum) and Néréïdes (France).

This detector is selective and detects floating hydrocarbons and chloride solvents only, thanks to a polymer membrane.

In contact with a pollution, the membrane dissolves like a fuse and triggers an alarm (dry contact output).

The detector ensures spill detection from 0.1 mm thickness with very short reaction time (4 seconds for super grade petrol, 2 min for crude oil, …).

Easy to set up, it does not drift or require any calibration or adjustment.

Oilspy is ATEX certified and can work in explosion proof area, dirty water, or freezing weather.

Néréïdes also proposes various sort of installation accessories according to the application. The standard version is designed for surface water monitoring (decantation pool, storage tanks, water intakes etc.) and the piezo version for underground water monitoring.
