Katronic Technologies Ltd was established in the United Kingdom in 1996 as a distributor of process measurement instrumentation with a focus on ultrasonic technologies. In 2003, the company began to develop its brand of non-invasive ultrasonic flowmeters for liquids. Since then, the company has evolved into a highly regarded manufacturer of clamp-on flowmeters. Katronic works hard to maintain an excellent reputation for quality, accuracy, and outstanding customer service across global industries. The company has regional offices in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

Katronic manufactures various types of ultrasonic flowmeters for diverse applications. Offering measurement solutions for a range of industries, including water and wastewater, oil, gas, energy, chemical processing, food and beverage industries.

Ultrasonic flowmeters are designed to deliver accurate, real-time flow readings without the need to cut pipes or interrupt operations. Utilising advanced transit-time technology, the clamp-on sensors measure flow from the outside of the pipe, making installation fast, non-invasive, and cost-effective. Katronic’s range of Flowmeter solutions offers a variety of flowmeter types to suit different requirements, engineered for accuracy, ease of use, and versatility.

The KATflow 200 is a handheld instrument designed for easy one-handed operation, making it ideal for use in confined spaces or at height; the KATflow 210 is a portable flowmeter equipped with advanced battery technology and a durable waterproof housing, making it suitable for long-term installation; and the KATflow 230 is a dual-channel unit that can be supplied with a variety of communication options, including HQM.

The KATflow 100 is a compact ultrasonic flowmeter with a robust and practical design for permanent installation and single-pipe measurement, while the KATflow 150 stands out as a premier product offering flexibility, performance, and customisation, including dual-channel capability and a wide range of configuration options. The KATflow 170 is designed for hazardous environments, featuring full ATEX certification and a corrosion-resistant option, making it suitable for potentially explosive conditions. Additionally, energy meters used in heating and cooling systems combine flow and temperature measurements to calculate energy consumption, while dual-path and multi-path flowmeters are ideal for large-diameter pipes or complex flow profiles, providing redundancy and enhanced accuracy.

In an industry where accuracy, compliance, and minimal disruption are key to success, Katronic’s KATflow 150 clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter is now officially MCERTS-certified. This innovative device offers a game-changing solution with high performance, quality, and reliability for anyone involved in water, wastewater, or environmental flow monitoring. Administered by the UK Environment Agency, MCERTS ensures that equipment used for regulatory monitoring performs with traceable accuracy and reliability under real-world conditions and still achieves the highest standards of accuracy and performance.

Katronic’s dynamic approach with a strong focus on quality manufacturing, customer satisfaction, an expert team, and an overall can-do attitude has resulted in the company being a trusted and reliable global leader in the field.
