Radiation monitoring is a prerequisite in measuring water quality. Continuous online monitoring of the radiation in water is particularly significant when monitoring water treatment facilities or nuclear facilities that could affect large areas.

ENVINET GmbH (Germany) provides a spectroscopic water gamma detector for application in fresh and sea water.

The SARA IGW810 detector can be optionally equipped with a high volume 3”x3” NaI(Tl) crystal as a spectroscopic gamma detector or CeBr3 for higher energy resolution. The SARA system provides autonomous operation including full data analysis as dose rate evaluation, nuclide identification and alarming. Its robust design enables the detector to operate in a water depth of up to 500 m. The system can easily be integrated into new or existing networks by means of TCP/IP communication. Operational on site 24/7, the SARA system is easy to maintain and requires minimal servicing.

A typical application of the SARA system is monitoring the inlet/outlet of water treatment facilities or nuclear facilities such as desalination plants or nuclear power plants. Several highly satisfied customers have already installed the SARA water monitoring system.

For example, The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) in Switzerland uses several IGW810 systems to monitor rivers. Another example for an installation is a buoy system operated by Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Jordan’s Gulf of Aqaba.

ENVINET offers a full range of environmental radiation detection products from detectors to central control and analysis software, thereby guaranteeing optimally configured functionality.
