Digital Technology for Reliable Measurements of Sludge Blankets, Suspended Solids and Turbidity

AQUALABO (France) have just launched the new PONSEL brand of digital sensors, the MES5, which allows users to measure the concentration of Suspended Solids (g/L), Turbidity (FAU) and Sludge Blanket detection in % of IR transmission for applications in urban/industrial waste water treatment plants’ inlet/sewage water (Suspended solids, Turbidity), aeration basins (Suspended solids), clarifiers (Sludge blanket), outlet (Turbidity), sludge treatment process (centrifuge optimisation) snd dredging sites (Turbidity).
The measurement principle of the new MES5 numerical sensor is based on the mitigation of the infra-red signal in 870 nm through an optical path of 5mm (absorptiometry). For a higher level of precision, the optics of the sensor are regulated for temperature.
The new digital PONSEL sensor features pre-developed resistant to disturbances: integrated into the sensor and the digital treatment of the signals. Contrary to the analogue sensors, there is no risk of losing data due to lengthy cable. AQUALABO have made every effort to ensure the reliability of the transmiited measurements.
The MES5 also records all historical data to ensure the instruments traceability, whilst calculating the sensor’s aging status and calibration
