Water/Wastewater
Cutting-edge electromagnetic portable flow meters spotlighted at WWEM Virtual Event.

Aqua Data’s “Fluvia” and “FloStick” flowmeters offer several significant advantages over other flow and velocity measuring techniques.
“Fluvia” and “FloStick” electromagnetic devices can be used for virtually any liquid so long as it has any level of conductivity. Therefore, measurements are not affected by suspended; they will bring about an electromagnetic field at the electrodes in the same way as moving water. A ‘Faraday’ probe measures the bulk velocity over the whole of the magnetic field, accuracy is unhindered by moving material, dirty or ice-cold water.
Many other instruments depend on momentum exchange with the water for example, so impellers, Pelton wheels, screws, and turbines are often clogged up by impurities or debris in the water and are therefore unreliable for wastewater or any ‘real world’ liquid monitoring. Instruments that operate using Doppler, ultrasound or laser technology usually require careful and time-consuming installation, and are often sensitive to different temperatures or orientation, which leads to further, lengthy calibration tasks.
