Rotronic HygroClip2 temperature and humidity probes have high specified accuracy and excellent long term stability; they are in a class of their own. However, we still recommend that an annual calibration is performed to confirm sensor performance. More frequently to meet the requirements of regulatory, Quality Management Systems or where chemical pollutants are present in the environment.

Humidity Standards can be conveniently used on site for a traceable calibration

Rotronic offers a wide range of values from 0.5...95 %rh available in packs of hermetically sealed ampoules of unsaturated salt solutions. Every ampoule has its value clearly marked together with a batch number for identification. A traceable calibration certificate is included in the box.

An on-site calibration using Rotronic humidity standards is easily performed. All that is required are the %rh ampoules, a calibration device for the probe (also available for many third party probes), HW4 software running on a PC, together with a calibration cable. Without the software probes can be easily calibrated and adjusted if necessary using the HygroPalm HP23 handheld.

The significant advantages are:

  • Inexpensive traceable calibration performed on site
  • Easy-to-use and safe
  • Instrument downtime minimised
  • Long lifetime.

We suggest that a 2-point calibration is performed at 35 %rh and 80 %rh, or values selected to cover the working range of the probe.

For lower specification products such as handhelds a temperature and humidity check can easily be made against a UKAS ISO:17025 calibrated reference instrument (other Rotronic laboratories : Rotronic Switzerland : SCS certificate (Swiss Calibration Standard, accredited laboratory ISO/IEC 17025), Rotronic USA: NVLAP accreditation ISO/IEC 17025).

We will be pleased to offer friendly advice for the calibration of your probes.
