The state of the art SL300 Ultrasonic Snow Depth Sensor from Felix Technology (Canada) provides a total system in a compact package, containing an ultra sensitive electrostatic transducer and the supporting circuitry to provide both analogue and digital outputs with fully independent zero and span adjustments over the entire operating range of detection.

The speed of sound through the medium (air) varies with the medium’s temperature. SL300 contains a temperature sensor placed in a radiation shield to compensate for changes in ambient temperature that would alter the speed of sound and hence the distance calculation that determines an accurate level measurement.

SL300 has recently been launched in the market and has already received great acknowledgments from manufacturers, integrators and suppliers as well as governmental organisations and institutes involved with meteorology, hydrology, environment and transportation.
