New generation of micropower gas sensors for carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons
Jul 23 2024
MIPEX’s range of state-of-the-art NDIR gas sensors already have a great reputation for their precision, reliability and exceedingly low power consumption. In fact, the MIPEX-04 range is way ahead of the field in terms energy efficiency with average consumption lower than 100 µW, enabling portable and wireless unattended fixed gas detectors to operate for up to 10 years without recharging. Despite the small size of the devices, MIPEX have managed to put all of this technical innovation into a very compact package.
The new MIPEX-05 range is suitable for use with the standard form of detector and has an exceedingly low power consumption of less than 200 µW, enabling technicians to harness unfettered, micropower.
MIPEX-05 is ideal for measuring the concentration of hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. The sensor can measure methane concentration up to 100% vol in temperatures ranging from-60 to 60 â—¦C, as well as propane concentration of up to 20% volume. MIPEX-05 also measures carbon dioxide up to 10% volume in temperatures of -20 to 50 â—¦C.
This highly advanced sensor has been designed with a complete pin layout and communication protocol compatibility with the MIPEX-02 which is widely used by many leading gas detector manufacturers. The new sensor simply needs plugging into the existing printed-circuit board, with no need for any hardware or software redesign. Engineering samples of the new MIPEX-05 will be available from the summer of 2024.
