New acetylene (C₂H₂) gas sensors

08 Sep, 2025

Acetylene, or ethyne, gas is widely used for welding. It has an LEL (lower explosion limit) of 2.3 Vol%, so operators and companies must diligently control and monitor processes and personal safety. Membrapor has recently added Acetylene as a new gas to its world-class precision gas sensors portfolio. The Swiss company offers sensors with nominal ranges of 20 ppm200 ppm, and 2000 ppm, with a high selectivity for Câ‚‚Hâ‚‚ gas. This facilitates early-warning measures in process control, enabling a rapid response to potentially life-threatening situations.
