Integrated safety through sampling

15 Jul, 2025

GDS Technologies, a UK leader in gas detection design and manufacture, with decades of experience and a reputation for innovation, continues to evolve its comprehensive portfolio to meet the demands of modern industrial safety and environmental compliance.

The latest addition to the GDS GasVac® range, the GasVac® Cool, is a purpose-built gas detection sample system specifically developed for refrigerant monitoring. The system offers rapid response and low maintenance by eliminating valves and cycle time delays. Pre-calibrated and pre-programmed, it features a cable-free design for easy installation and reduced operating costs.

A key component across the GasVac® range is the Sample Intake Module, which operates as part of GDS’s Micropore Sampling Network (MPS) method. This technique ensures consistent and accurate sample flow from remote safe or hazardous locations - such as ceiling voids, tunnels, subfloors or storage tanks - by drawing air through a micropore sample line to a central control unit. The MPS approach balances vacuum pressure to maintain sample integrity over long distances, up to 200 metres, while protecting sensitive electronics from environmental extremes. With a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +60°C) and optional features like auto-drain units, collector cone fittings and water shields, the Sample Intake Module enhances system flexibility while minimising maintenance.
