Analox (UK) is a supplier of gas-sensing technology for laboratory environments. Its range of multi-gas monitoring systems has recently been enhanced by the introduction of the Ax60, a carbon dioxide (CO2) detection and alarm system. This offers protection for anyone who may be exposed to high-concentration sources of CO2.
Laboratory activities using CO2, typically found in microbiology, cryogenics and medical research, may be conducted in very different environments, but each has potential to release dangerous and harmful amounts of CO2. Analox developed the Ax60 as a flexible system that can be configured to fit each specific situation.
An Ax60 can be anything from a simple ‘one sensor, one alarm’ device, to an expanded system using a central control unit and up to four sensors and eight alarms. An optional remote flashing beacon is available to enable the system to be further extended. Alarms are relayed to the audio-visual units located in different places in order to warn personnel of a rising CO2 level.
Warning against the asphyxiating effects of CO2, the Ax60 is ideal for use in noisy environments or processes where staff wear personal protective equipment or wherever the gas is used, stored or delivered.
