Shimadzu has recently launched their Advanced i-Series liquid chromatography series. The new i-Series offers an increase in pressure resistance as well as several analytical intelligence (AI) automated features which facilitate working remotely. Operators can now perform real-time remote phase monitoring using 1 – 5 litre bottles, the i-Series also features auto-diagnostic and auto-recovery capabilities and Shimadzu’s i-PeakFinder software, which uses an automatic peak integration algorithm to save time and effort to achieve a higher degree of accuracy faster.

The i-Series can be set to start operation at a pre-set, specific time. This enables it to perform auto-purging, equilibration, check baselines and system suitability when it most suits the end-user. Shimadzu’s intelligent Flow Pilot slowly increases flow rate to avoid pressure shock and ensure that the desired temperature is reached without causing any damage to the columns and consumables and ensuring that the operator has highly precise and reproducible data when anytime it is needed.

AI also enables the i-Series to monitor and diagnose itself continuously, so this system can deal with any matters occurring during data acquisition with no user input required, while automatically performing as if it was operated by a seasoned professional.

Shimadzu’s new system caters for remote system operation and monitoring through web browsers and smart devices. Operators can implement methods, set batch analysis, analyse results and create reports away from the lab.
