Streamlined ion chromatography for routine water testing

Shimadzu Corporation has launched the Nexera IC ion chromatograph, a compact, fully automated system developed to make routine water quality analysis simpler, faster and more consistent.

Built for routine and regulated laboratories, the system combines intuitive software with automated workflows to reduce operator workload and support reliable results, even across users with different levels of experience. Its compact design also helps laboratories make better use of valuable bench space.

To improve efficiency, the Nexera IC supports optional dual injection for simultaneous anion and cation analysis, which can increase throughput in drinking water and environmental testing. Automated dilution, eluent mixing and precise total-volume injection further help minimise variability and reduce waste.

Practical features such as a 162-vial autosampler, front-access components and simplified eluent handling make day-to-day operation and maintenance easier for busy laboratories.

The platform is supported by Shimadzu's IC Solution software for standardised, regulatory-compliant methods, alongside IC Support software for monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance guidance.

Together, these capabilities make the Nexera IC a practical choice for laboratories looking to improve productivity, consistency and confidence in modern water testing.
