Unleashing the power of Ultra-Fast Purification Liquid Chromatography (UFPLC) to automate LC purification and high-purity compound recovery
Sep 11 2023
Shimadzu offers the first UFPLC instrument to fully automate the recovery of highly purified target compounds from complex samples.
Regular workflows using preparative liquid chromatography produce fractions with a considerable water content which will take a few hours to evaporate and usually cannot be removed completely. However, Shimadzu’s UFPLC provides a single automated workflow that makes use of online fraction trapping instead of conventional fraction collection, facilitating the elution of collected compounds in highly volatile organic solvents that can easily be evaporated, with an end result of ultra-high purity compounds in far less time. The analyser is operated and controlled via a dedicated, walk-up software that has been designed for a simple set-up of conditions for chromatographic separation and isolation of target compounds, as well as the trapping, purifying, eluting and collection of highly purified compounds. Shimadzu’s Nexera UFPLC significantly improves the efficiency of preparative fraction collection and purification workflows in a wide array of industries and research organisations.
Shimadzu’s UFPLC system automates fraction post-processing (desalting, solvent removal, counter ion switching) and offers end-users as much as 90% faster sample evaporation. This device targets major peaks as well as small, unknown impurity peaks and generates exceedingly reproducible pure samples.
