Blackline Safety Europe receives carbon-neutral verification

28 Jun, 2024

Having undergone a rigorous verification process, the NQA certification body has declared Blackline Safety Europe’s operations as carbon neutral for all measured emissions during the previous fiscal year, per PAS 2060, the internationally recognised standard for carbon neutrality,

Blackline Safety Corp., whose global headquarters is based in Calgary, Canada, with subsidiary offices in France, UAE, UK, and USA, manufactures an award-winning range of connected safety wearable and area gas monitors. Over 2,200 organisations and more than 165,000 workers worldwide depend on Blackline’s cutting-edge technology backed up by their first-class safety monitoring service.

Lacey Griffin, Blackline Safety’s Quality & Compliance Co-ordinator for UK & Europe. commented, “Last year, our European business announced the results of our first-ever carbon footprint report, commissioned to track both direct and indirect carbon emissions and conducted with carbon consultants Auditel. As a result of the report and subsequent emissions reduction plan for each site, we have successfully achieved our goal and verified our status.”

Blackline Safety’s European operation’s carbon footprint was determined under the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol emission scopes. These cover direct emissions caused by the combustion of gas and other fuels, emissions from the generation of electricity and other energy purchased - but generated somewhere else, and emissions made by third parties connected to the company’s operational activities.

Blackline intends to continue its environmental journey as they are now working towards gaining the new ISO 14068 Climate Change Management Standard.,

Lacey Griffin added, “Our European operations will continue to measure our carbon footprint and identify and implement emission reduction plans, while being true to our overarching company values of driving innovation, resiliency, demonstrating leadership, going the extra mile, and empowering people.”
