Shawcity signs new partnership to distribute Dräger gas detectors in the UK and Ireland

16 Sep, 2024

Shawcity has just signed a distribution partnership agreement with Dräger, renowned for its innovative gas detection technology. Dräger has been a leader in safety product development since 1889 and is a perfect fit for Shawcity, which has a proud history as one of the UK and Ireland’s leading distributors of gas safety technology.

Neil O’Regan, Managing Director of Shawcity commented: ‘As gas detection specialists established for nearly 50 years, adding Dräger to complement our extensive range makes perfect sense.

We are also very pleased to have been awarded Dräger-approved Service Centre status, which means we can service, calibrate and repair any Dräger portable gas detection instrumentation.

‘Shawcity is an expert authority on photoionisation detection (PID) used for detecting volatile organic compounds, so one product we are particularly excited about is the Dräger X-pid 9500 which utilises gas chromatography as well as PID technology. This means for customers who test for hazardous toxic substances, we can offer laboratory-quality measurements, which reduce cross-sensitivities from other gases and vapours present to a minimum. The connectivity to an app via an ATEX smartphone ensures data is easy to access. It's exactly the type of cutting-edge technology we enjoy introducing our customers to.’

Andrew Dimond, Channel Partner Manager at Dräger, commented: ‘We are really excited to welcome Shawcity on board as a Dräger Channel Partner. As one of the UK’s leading portable gas detection distributors, we look forward to collaborating with their team of experts to help their customers to detect, measure, monitor and react to target gases on their sites.”

Dräger is the latest leading gas detection company to partner with Shawcity, whose extensive gas detection partner portfolio also includes Analox, Blackline Safety, BW by Honeywell, City Technology, Crowcon, Gas Data, Gas Clip Technologies, GDS Technologies, Honeywell, ION Science, RAE by Honeywell, Sensitron and Uniphos.
