Leading U.S. utility company signs off $3.9M renewal contract with Blackline Safety
Jun 27 2024
Blackline Safety Corporation has secured a $3.9 million contract renewal with one of the US’ largest utility companies serving over four million consumers. This company has been a valued Blackline customer for nearly three years – and this renewal has been signed two and a half years after the original device deployment.
The extended contract has added two more years of monitoring via Blackline’s Safety Operations Centre (S.O.C.) along with push-to-talk services for the organisation’s 2,200 G7 safety monitoring instruments.
Donnovan Simon, Blackline’s VP of Client Success, commented, “We’re very pleased the company is seeing the benefits of Blackline’s technology. Over the last two years, Blackline’s S.O.C. monitoring and push-to-talk have facilitated communication and driven operational efficiencies, all while keeping their workers connected and protected.”
Utility provider personnel encounter a multitude of hazards at work, including gas exposure, working in confined spaces, falls, bad weather conditions, physical confrontations with customers, and working alone in locations with limited or no cellular coverage. Blackline Safety’s award-winning wearable G7 includes gas detection, an SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, push-to-talk, and real-time connectivity, thereby providing a crucial lifeline in emergency situations.
This contract marks second time in a matter of weeks that Blackline has announced growth in the utility sector having celebrated a new $1.5 million deal with a California utility provider in May. Blackline Safety’s products and services also protects half of the water and wastewater companies in the UK, and the globally-renowned company have also enjoyed significant successes having recently expanded their water and wastewater client base into Australia.
