 Over 24,000 visitors attend IE expo 2012

 Following its structural revision, IE expo 2012, the new brand integrating IFAT

CHINA and EPTEE + CWS, has now confirmed its

leading position in the Chinese environmental technology market.

The show featured 753 exhibitors from 25 countries and about 24,000

visitors from 53 countries. The number of visitors increased by 10 percent over the previous event.

Liu Zhiquan, Deputy Director of Science and Technology and Standards Dept.,

Ministry of Environmental protection of China has high expectations to IE expo,

“IE expo is the leader of environmental technology show in China. We hope this

trade show can promote and introduce the latest technologies and equipment to 2

the market.” Dr. Wolfgang Röhr, Consul General of Germany, Shanghai, pointed

out in his inauguration statement, “The meaning of this fair goes far beyond

simple day-to-day trading. It will impact on the development of China and the

world because the technologies shown here are significant for the sustainable

development of the whole world and the solution of its pressing issues of

urbanisation.”

In addition to the strong national participation, IE expo also featured seven joint

pavilions from France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, U.S.A. as well as the

CECC (China Environmental Chamber of Commerce) pavilion. William Brekke,

Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai stated: “This

show has proven itself to be an excellent venue for U.S. environmental

technology companies seeking to connect with Chinese and international buyers.

We look forward to building on this year's success.”
