Leading analytical services company Eurofins has launched a new rapid multiparameter soil and groundwater analysis service, specifically developed to meet the needs of European legislation.
The TerrAttesT® service provides cost-effective access to advanced laboratory analysis with a standard five day turnaround for results. However, urgent test data can be provided in just three days if customers choose the express service. The comprehensive analysis package includes more than 200 compounds, including characterisation parameters, heavy metals, organic compounds and pesticides. The TerrAttesT® sample packaging is delivered free of charge to
customers who then fill the sample containers and return them by Eurofins courier to the laboratory. By logging onto an on-line network the results can be seen as soon as samples have been analysed.
A key benefit is that TerrAttesT® is also able to provide concise and accurate results when used on land with little or no history in terms of the known level of contamination, enabling clients to issue well-founded, legally conclusive statements on the nature and degree of contamination.
The market for accurate out-sourced testing services is growing rapidly and looks set to grow even further in the light of recent announcements. Housing and Planning Minister Yvette Cooper has announced a £500m package of proposals to accelerate the building of homes for families and first-time buyers – with the focus firmly on brownfield land across the country. In total, the UK Government has a target of 3 million new homes by 2020, predominantly on brownfield sites.
The growth in demand for testing has resulted in the launch of the
TerrAttesT® service in the UK and Ian Jackman, Business Development
Director at Eurofins Environmental Services Ltd, says, “There are
numerous benefits for clients who need to analyse soil and water; the
service is quick, inexpensive, logistically efficient and easy to use.
Furthermore, TerrAttesT® is designed to identify contaminants of
concern and therefore meets the requirements of European legislation.”
