With the release of the ALEXYS 100 LC-EC system in 2004, Antec Leyden (The Netherlands) became a supplier of system solutions. Dedicated solutions are now available for environmental, clinical and pharmaceutical applications based on this integrated LC system with electrochemical detection.
The aminoglycosides are a broad-spectrum antibiotics used against gram-positive and gram-negative bacillary infections in both clinical and veterinary medicine. We developed a simple and sensitive analysis method
for the determination of Neomycin, Tobramycin and Gentamicin in pharmaceutical preparations, using reversedphase Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Pulsed Amperometric Detection (PAD) on a gold working electrode
after post-column addition of sodium hydroxide. For the analysis of Kanamycin and Amikacin another system solution is available based on ion exchange chromatography with PAD.
