AEA Led Consortium Appointed to European Commission Framework Agreement
Jun 16 2011
An international consortium led by world leading energy and environmental consultancy AEA (UK) has been selected by the European Commission as a core advisor on a range of issues from creating ‘green’ jobs and sustainable development to better managing resources across the EU.
The AEA-led team is one of only three groups selected to provide strategic services to the EU - assessing and analysing the economic impact of environmental policies and sustainable development.
Robert Bell, COO Europe AEA said: ‘This is a significant win for AEA and its partners, putting us at the very heart of the global challenge to link sustainable development with economic success. Our breadth of expertise across the numerous disciplines required for this vital area is unique and we look forward to making a major contribution to policy developments in this field.’
Under the new framework agreement, AEA and its partners will have the opportunity to win up to €3 million of work each year for a four year period. The framework contract is with the Directorate General (DG) Environment of the European Commission.
The support work on the framework will cover three areas: Sustainable Development, Economic Analysis and specific Impact Assessments and Evaluations across a range of sector areas such as Biodiversity, Land Use, Industry, Water, the Marine Environment and Chemicals.
